So long, farewell...

Hello everyone!

I hope that you're having a great week, and have gotten lots of crafty stuff done.  If it were up to me, I'd stay home and make tons of stuff.  Unfortunately, I have to support my addiction...I mean hobby somehow.  So I work. lol

Now, I know today's usually the day that a new challenge gets posted, but I'm sad to say there won't be anymore FYI challenges.  After two years, I believe it is time to move on.  Things haven't really picked up like I had hoped, and having zero interest in our design team call was a sign that it was time to let this go.

I've had some amazing, and wonderful ladies on my design team for almost the whole time I've been running this challenge, and I can't thank them enough for their dedication and hard work.  Each challenge they provided amazing projects for everyone to see, and I am blessed to have worked with all of them.  I wish all of my Lovelies the best as they move on to other crafty endeavors.

I'd also like to thank all of you wonderful people who were able to join us, when you could.  Your participation was very much appreciated, and your projects were gorgeous.  We loved visiting your blogs each challenge, and seeing how you were inspired by the photos.  Without you, this challenge blog wouldn't have run even this long.  So thank you very much!!

The blog will stay active, should anyone like to view the inspiration photos, but this is the last post.  Wishing everyone all the best!

Challenge 45 - Lovely Lotus

Challenge #45 gave us a rocky view of a beautiful lighthouse, with stormy skies.  So many of you did a fabulous job of creating such detailed projects.  We loved seeing them all!  Thank you to all who were able to join us.

FYI Challenge #46

Hello hello!

Welcome to our next challenge here at FYI.  We had many lovely entries for our last challenge, and are thankful for all who were able to join us.  I'll be back soon with our Lovely Lotus pick from challenge #45. :-)

For this challenge, I found a picture of one of my favorite things...Aspen Trees!  I wasn't familiar to them until I lived in Colorado.  I LOVE how vibrant they are when they turn in the fall.  Just the sight of them makes me long to be back in Denver.

I remember being on the back of my friends motorcycle, traveling through the mountains, when I first saw them.  If you ever get the opportunity to visit any place that has Aspen trees, I would recommend doing so.  I love how the sun shining through these trees makes them "glow".  They're all growing in such a way that I could totally children playing in them.  So, how are you inspired?

Design Team Call

Hello!

It's that time again!  We're looking for a few good women (and/or men) to add to our wonderfully talented Design Team.  We're a very laid back group, and just like to have fun creating.  The new term would run from July to December.  If you're interested in applying, please see all of the details below.

As a member of our group, you'd be responsible for:

Submitting two projects a month.
Commenting on participant entries.
Helping to select our Lovely Lotus for each challenge.

We do have a system for commenting, so that it's not so difficult to keep up with all of the entries.  There are no limits as to what you create, or with what medium you choose.

3 of your best projects.

Remember, we're a crafting blog, not just a papercrafting blog. You can make ANY kinds of projects you like, based on the photos.

FYI Challenge #45

Good day y'all!

As I type this up (Wednesday evening), I am watching the snow accumulate outside my window.  Yes, snow.  In May!  When I woke up this morning, there were clear skies, and green grass.  Around 3pm, the sleet and snow started to fall, and we now have about 2 inches. *sigh*  I am really missing the warm Texas weather right about now. lol  I do hope that most of you are getting nicer weather, wherever you are.   :-)

Anyway, enough about that.  We have a new inspiration photo for you today!  It's supposed to be a bit gloomy here for the next few days, so this photo is kinda fitting, don't you think?  I love lighthouses.  I've never actually seen one in real life, but I've seen TONS in photos online, and from friends' vacations.  The sharpness of the rocks against the cool gray sky in this photo is beautiful to me.  The lighthouse is just an added bonus.  So, how are you inspired?
